Colleen-Maree Bates is unique in being not just the first WA licensed provider of the Tomatis® method but also the only Certified MNRI Core Specialist in the Australia. She is the only Australian who works on the International Team for the Masgutova Education Institute (USA). Her highly distinct skills and expertise mean that she is sought out by people from all across the country.
Colleen-Maree lives in Perth, WA. She possesses a deep passion for working to improve the lives of children and adults with disabilities through effective, personalised therapies. For 20 years, Colleen-Maree worked with adults with acquired brain injuries, youth with mental health issues and children with autism. It soon became clear that sensory integration problems were heavily implicated in the behaviour of many children with disabilities. Colleen-Maree aims to address underlying sensory issues in order to successfully change behaviour, movement and increase learning attention.
Her experience spans a variety of therapeutic roles for the WA Department of Education and Training in the field of Special Education (K-12). In those settings, she implemented the Masgutova® Method and conducted a classroom Tomatis® research program. One of her key achievements was increasing the Auditory Processing of her class by an average of four years in just 10 weeks. Colleen-Maree wants to give people access to the same powerful effects of the Masgutova® and Tomatis® methods through her therapy business.
Colleen-Maree possesses a Bachelor of Social Science in Youth Work (2001) and a Graduate Diploma of Education (2004). She has had the privilege of working alongside Dr. Svetlana Masgutova at 10 family conferences. Colleen-Maree has completed training in 20 MNRI protocols including: MNRI® Dynamic and Postural Reflex Integration, MNRI® Visual & Auditory Reflexes Integration, MNRI® Tactile Integration, MNRI® Archetype Motor Movements, MNRI® Neuro-structural Integration, MNRI® Breathing Reflex Integration, and MNRI® Facial Reflex Integration.
